My name is Evan Geiger and I am an exchange student from Minnesota State University Moorhead in the United States. I am currently wrapping up my third year of studying Music Industry.
This semester I took my knowledge of recording and editing and applied it to radio in the UK, since radio in the US doesn’t have nearly as much relevance. I enjoyed working with other people on different ideas, and overall found the experience very eye opening. Before coming to Lincoln, I had no knowledge of radio dramas, or traditional programming in the UK.
While I was in Lincoln I got to work on a team that produced a Headspace show, one of the student run shows on the schools radio station, Siren FM. Our topic was ‘Sound’ and it was an absolute blast. I was involved in many different aspects, including being there for pre-recorded interviews, going out and interview citizens of Lincoln, producing and editing packages for radio, and overall working with the team to make the best Headspace show that we could.
In the tabs above you will find our Headspace show and my evaluation of it, an assessment I wrote about the experience as a whole, and in the Packages tab you can listen to the packages I produced for Siren FM.
